August is a very busy month in and around Clifden. Our own Holiday Home, "Cuach Cottage" Bog Road, Clifden, is fully booked with visitors from all corners of the globe enjoying the Wild Atlantic Way and all the amenities Clifden has to offer.

The town is just bouncing with excitement and our self catering holiday let is a choice place to be during this time. "Cuach Cottage" is the ideal holiday cottage for such a stop over.

Monday i st. August sees the All Ireland Dog Show get under way in Roundstone where the All Ireland Supreme Champion will be the winner on the day. There is lots to do in Roundstone with fun and games for all the family. A fantastic day out is assured so do please visit Roundstone and see for yourself !!

Saturday 6 th. August sees two activities start, ie " The Omey Dash " and the " Connemara 100 " The Connemara 100 takes place over two days, ie. 6 th and 7 th.

Now  " The Omey Dash " is a triathlon and starts off from the local village of Claddaghduff from 10.30 am Sat. 6 th. It comprises of three tests the first being .75 K swim along Omey Beach, then a 25 K cycle followed by a 5 K run. Everyone over the age of 16 can enter.

This is just a brilliant day out even if one is not competing !! Enjoy Omey Island, Claddaghduff, Clegan..................... Good luck everyone.

Also on the Sat. 6 th. am sees the start of the Connemara 100 from Clifden Town. This is a true challenge for competitors over two days. Its a certified race over 100 miles of the most beautiful terrain to be found anywhere in the world. To register visit; www.connemara100.com. To all new and returning guests for the 2024 season. A very BIG thank you to all  visiting " Cuach Cottage " during 2023 and huge welcome to returnees in 2024. After such a traumatic few years,  I hope all guests will find the beautiful surrounding's of " Cuach Cottage "  very rejuvenating and offer moments of reflection on what matters most in life, each other ! Sometimes in our lives we forget  to take time out to tell our loved ones how precious they are .

2024 Season.

Once again Spring / Summer is just around the corner, bringing it's own unique beauty to Connemara with particular emphasis on the wild life, flora and fauna that immediately surrounds our Cottage.

A real Chill Out Zone !! awaits the visitor.

Many past Guests have forwarded their own photos of Birds, Butterflies, Sheep, Ponies, for inclusion in our website. Indeed, our very own Fox, "FOXY " together with Otters, Mallards, Cormorants, Herons, all foraging and playing in our river  right under our kitchen window! Congrats to all budding photographers. We will publish as many as we can so keep up the good work !

The Otters are of course very elusive, however, we have been lucky to spot them ourselves at play on the riverbank on a number of occasions. 

Again this coming year 2024 we are registered and accredited with Failte Ireland  and have achieved Super host status through another channel, we offer the this visitor assurance and comfort, regarding standards and compliance. It's peace of mind really.
