Fishing:

Our river is stocked with fresh trout and is a recognised Salmon run. The fishing rights in bygone days belonged to our neighbouring Ballynahinch Castle. Ballynahinch currently provides some of the best fresh water fishing & shoots available in Europe. Boundary fencing provides a break between the river and immediate garden. However, you require fishing license which can be purchased in Stanley's in Clifden.

Sea fishing trips take place daily from Roundstone and Cleggan in season. These are paid for and arranged by the guest.

Golf

Championship Golf Courses are also located close to the Cottage. Ask for Dominic at Connemara Championship Golf Course in Ballyconneely. https://connemaragolflinks.com. A real challenge awaits the golfing enthusiast, a wayward drive will not be so disappointing as the views are really breathtaking. The wind will also take your breath away !!

These sessions are free to attent but please understand these venues are also businesses who depend on you spending, so please purchare generously. It's entertainment at the very highest level, enjoy.

I must mention the return leg from Roundstone to our cottage, its just inspiring, freedom, open air, lake dotted terrain with Connemara sheep roaming everywhere a fab. thing to do whether driving, walking or cycling. Diamond Hill can be viewed from this route, sticking up proudly between the 12 Bens.
